SOCIETAL Travel CIC is delighted to announce that Dr Mairi Watson, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Northampton, has joined the company as a non-executive director.
Mairi said, “I’m joining the SOCIETAL Board at a critical and exciting time. I’m very pleased to have been invited to work more closely with such an experienced and influential team. Logistics and transport are at the heart of the Northamptonshire economy. SOCIETAL’s work to improve access to transport and reduce congestion, will have a significant impact on life in the county.”
As a community interest company, SOCIETAL exists to improve the ways people and goods travel in our region. All profits the company makes is reinvested in the business to enable it to develop new technology to deliver its aims.
The company has been set up by Northamptonshire County Council and the University of Northampton’s Institute of Logistics, Infrastructure, Supply and Transport – who have also carried out research to inform the way the company operates, working closely with the Transport Systems Catapult, based in Milton Keynes.
